The Skytrain construction component of our rail line is now well underway, with large straddle carrier cranes and skytrain piers being built parallel to Old Windsor Road.

The new Kellyville and Rouse Hill stations will be built approximately 13 metres above ground as part of the Skyrail, allowing people and cars to move underneath with minimum disruption.

Premier Mike Baird recently visited the area to inspect the progress of the $8.3 billion project and new station site at Castle Hill.

We travelled 70 metres underground to see the 17 metre high cross over tunnel that will enable trains to pass through at two to four minute intervals during peak times.

The 36 kilometre line is well ahead of schedule and importantly under budget.

It is testament to the ability of everyone involved in the construction of this project that such a large amount of excavation has occurred with a minimum amount of disruption to our community.
